I never find sushi rolls all that filling. Instead of ordering a bunch of calorie laden rolls opt for this filling substitute. Combining the flavors of a California roll with a filling rice bowl. The result is a California bowl perfect for lunch or dinner. Throw an egg on top and call it breakfast.
California Roll Bowl
½ cup cooked brown rice
1/3 cup shredded carrot
¼ cup chopped cucumber
¼ hass avocado
3 sheets of seaweed snacks (any flavor)
½ cup crab or imitation crab
2 tbsp chopped scallions
2 tsp sesame seeds
*Optional soy sauce and hot sauce to taste
How you combine the ingredients is up to you. I recommend starting with the warm rice first and sprinkling with 1 tsp of sesame seeds and then adding each item to build a circle. Top with the remaining 1 tsp of sesame seeds, scallions and optional hot and soy sauces.
