I'm a serious oatmeal lover. The first time I experimented with adding tea to food was with a bowl of oatmeal. It absorbs the flavors, keeps it healthy and allows for various combinations. One of my favorite chai's is made by a Brooklyn company called Chai Mookie. They make an outrageously full flavored and spicy chai called the dirty blend. It's perfect for spicing up your morning bowl of oats with little effort. Please feel free to adjust the sweetness and thickness depending on your personal preferences.
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup low fat milk or non-dairy alternative
1 heaping teaspoon of chai tea
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1/4 canned pure pumpkin
2 tbsp shredded unsweetened or sweetened coconut
2 tsp honey
